The BusinessNZ Challenge is a FREE three-day practical business experience for Year 11 students in Terms 1-3 and for Year 10 students in Term 4 which involves students forming notional companies, researching and deciding on a good or service, writing a business plan and launching it in an oral presentation competition.

Students work in teams of eight to create a hypothetical product, set up a company and prepare a business strategy to produce and sell their product.

On the final day of the programme each team's business ideas, creations and discoveries go on display at a business expo. Judges who are local business people, celebrities and Members of Parliament evaluate each team's presentation and mark them on a range of criteria.
