What is Financial Education?
Financial Education is learning directed towards developing a financially competent person. A financially competent person has the ability to make informed judgements and effective decisions about the use and management of money.
Financial Education
The ability to manage money is an essential life skill for all kiwis regardless of their age. Young Enterprise Trust's school-based programmes and activities raise awareness and provide practical opportunities for students to take part in financial decision making, and develop money management capability. Students acquire knowledge and skills, and recognise their own values in the process of building personal financial understanding.
New resource available
Young Enterprise Trust has a resource package to enable teachers to deliver Personal Financial management Unit Standard 25247 (level 3, 3 credits). This is now available at the regular price of $55 per standard package.
The package is part of a sequence of three Personal Financial management standards which include wealth creation, risk, return and diversification. The other two standards, 25242 and 25246, are also available. They are both level 2 standards.
This sequence of standards can be used in conjunction with the Reserve Bank of New Zealand’s game ‘Skint to Mint’.
